What if my account is not eligible for Overdraft Pay Advantage (OPA)?
If your account does not qualify for Overdraft Pay Advantage (OPA) you will still be allowed an overdraft amount of negative $5. This means if you have an item presented against your account that is within $5 below your available balance, RCU will pay the item on your behalf without charging an Overdraft Pay Advantage fee. Please note that available balance (not actual balance) is used to determine if you have sufficient funds to cover your transactions.
Transactions that may be paid in this way are: checks clearing your account, automatic bill payments (such as automated withdrawals and recurring debit card transactions), and everyday debit card transactions. After a transaction is paid, you will be asked to make a deposit to cover the negative balance in your account immediately, and no later than within 20 days. If your account is not in good standing, we may not be able to extend this payment service to your account.
Redwood Credit Union offers Members valuable products and services with no or low fees. For select products and services, some fees are assessed as a cost recovery. See our Cost Recovery Schedules for Personal Accounts and Business Accounts for details.
